Gracie Jiu- Jitsu

Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Techniques

Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art that was created by the Gracie family in Brazil. It is based on the traditional Japanese art of Jujutsu, but with some added techniques and principles. Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is known for its effectiveness in self-defense, and for its focus on grappling and ground fighting.

Techniques for Grappling and Ground Fighting

There are many different techniques that can be used for grappling and ground fighting. Some of these include:

  1. The Guard Position – This is a position where you are lying on your back on the ground, with your legs wrapped around your opponent’s waist. From this position, you can control your opponent, and prevent them from attacking you.
  2. The Mount Position – This is a position where you are sitting on top of your opponent, with your legs straddling their waist. From this position, you can control your opponent, and deliver strikes.
  3. The Side Mount Position – This is a position where you are lying on your side on the ground, with one of your legs wrapped around your opponent’s waist. From this position, you can control your opponent, and deliver strikes.
  4. The Rear Mount Position – This is a position where you are sitting on your opponent’s back, with your legs wrapped around their waist. From this position, you can control your opponent, and delivery strikes.
  5. The Standing Grappling Position – This is a position where you are grappling with your opponent while both of you are standing. From this position, you can take your opponent down to the ground, or deliver strikes.

Each of these positions has its own advantages and disadvantages, and it is up to you to learn how to use them effectively in order to defeat your opponent.
